Digs has officially been granted a foundational patent for its technology, “Generation of a Digital Twin from Construction Information.”

The patent represents a major milestone for the team and its vision to modernize how construction information is organized, understood, and used throughout the lifecycle of a home.

Filed within weeks of starting Digs by co-founders Ty Frackiewicz and Ryan Fink, the patent covers technology that transforms standard construction documents like PDFs, floor plans, selections, and change orders into a structured digital understanding of the home.

Instead of scattered files and disconnected systems, Digs creates a connected source of truth for builders and homeowners.

Unlocking Happier Homes

Digs began after Ryan Fink built his own family home and experienced firsthand how fragmented construction information still is. Together with Ty Frackiewicz, a former builder and technology leader, the team recognized that many workflows in construction had not evolved beyond the same manual processes used more than a decade ago.

They started Digs to simplify the experience for both builders and homeowners.

Today, Digs helps construction teams centralize project information, reduce costly mistakes, and improve communication from preconstruction through handoff.

The platform is now used across all 50 U.S. states and Canada, supporting more than 5,000 homes and backed by a growing portfolio of more than 10 patents.

“This patent reflects the vision we had from day one,” said Digs Co-Founder and CEO Ryan Fink. “Construction data should be connected, accessible, and useful long after a project is complete.”

As the construction industry continues its digital transformation, Digs is focused on building the infrastructure that powers smarter building and better homeownership experiences.

Digs is an AI-powered collaboration software built for homebuilders. From pre-con to aftercare, it keeps your team, trades, and clients aligned with one centralized workspace for decisions, documentation, digital handoff, and ongoing warranty support.
